For a very long time now, I have been wanting to not only explore my own inner self more, but also have the skills to teach that to others. I wanted to encompass this in Project SHINE because I do believe that whilst the skills I can teach to enhance your physical being can be life changing for some, I always put the focus on loving your self and letting your true self shine, because that is what people are most attracted to and that is where true peace and happiness lay.
So I have embarked on a journey to learn to be a Yoga Teacher. Yoga is not just a great physical exercise, it is a way of life. It is the only physical activity I have ever done that allows me to connect fully with myself, listen to my body and control my mind.
It's a proven tool to improve both physical and mental health and I would love for you to follow my personal journey by visiting my Blog:
I am Amie Morris, founder and creator of Project Shine! Welcome to my very first blog post.
I hope you can get a good feel of what we aim to achieve through our site Project SHINE. We hope to use this platform as a forum for discussion about everyday life for women. The pressures we face, how we can look and feel good about ourselves. And how we can improve our lives through our own perception of ourselves and learn new skills like Makeup, and fashion styling.
My personal experience of life so far has been spending many a years feeling a sense of competition from other women for the way that I looked which made me very self aware, unhappy and often isolated. Then when I felt bad, I gave off protective energy which replled people further. It took me years to spot the pattern. I wanted to put a stop to this in my own life and so I spent alot of my time working on my inner shine, so that my outer self wasn't the focus and people were attracted to what shone out of me instead. Being comfortable with myself, knowing myself and being content with who I am was the start.
Your inner self is different to my inner self and my inner self is different to yours, and this should be celebrated and shared especially amongst women, not used as a form of competition. We need to stick together and support each other to be who we are, who ever that may be.
I feel extremely passionate about this ethos and I will push this ideology throughout my work here with Project SHINE.
A little bit more about me: I have always enjoyed grooming my outer self, through different hair styles, makeup and fashion. My mum still says now that I was just born that way. I love new ideas, I love textures of fabrics and material and I love expressing myself through my physical appearance. When I was younger I think this was perceived that I loved myself too much, but my answer to this is that I didn't love myself enough !! It wasn't that I loved myself it was the opposite and I used things to hide behind to make myself feel better. When really, once I got to know myself and then really love myself for who I am, my happiness increased and my sense of self developed.
So my message for today is - Love yourself and let your self SHINE !
